Saris Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2011 Ford Fusion- Video
Hi everyone, it's Eve Angeline here, at etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at our Saris Bones EX 2 Bike trunk mounted bike rack, right here on our 2011 Ford Fusion. So, you have your Ford Fusion, and you wanna take your bikes out. Now, while I usually recommend if you can, get a hitch mounted bike rack, while if you don't yet have a hitch on your Ford Fusion or you can't get one, that's where your trunk mounted bike rack like this comes in handy. And since you have a spoiler, or if you have a spoiler on your sedan, you are gonna have a very limited selection of bike racks that can sit around them. So, it's really nice to see that the Saris Bones EX 2 is compatible. So, this is the Saris Bones EX 2, we can also get this as E 3. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Ford Fusion, we're gonna be test fitting the Yakama FullBack Two Bike Rack for trunk mounts, part number Y02634. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some features here. Starting at the ends of the arms here, on the one end, we will have the bottle opener which is pretty standard for most Yakama bike racks. On the other end here, we'll have an integrated cable lock which you pull out, wrap around the front most bike, and then attach it to this point here, and lock it into place. Therefore, both of your bikes are gonna be secured to the rack once they're installed.The cradles are stationary but they do have this super cush material, the frame of your bike is gonna be resting on so to ensure that there's not gonna be any scratch to your frame once it's being installed. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Ford Fusion, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima HalfBack 2 Bike Rack for Trunk Mounts, part number Y02636. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and show off some of the features here.Starting at the ends of the arms, we're going to have the patented Yakima bottle openers on either end. The cradles themselves are stationary, but they do have this SuperCush material to help protect your bike's frame once it's being installed, and make sure that it doesn't get any scratches on it once you're installing it and transporting it.These do also have anti-sway cradles back here, which you can push up out of the way while loading and unloading, which is going to make it 10 times easier as opposed to having to shuffle the bike back and forth to get it into place. It does grip your bike by three points. We'll have two ZipStrips up at the top of the frame, and then one off to the side, which again is that anti-sway cradle to help keep the bike from moving too far back and forth and causing bike-to-bike contact.Let's go ahead and take the bike off. more

While this is designed for vehicles with spoilers, this can fit regular vehicles like you see here. It can carry up to two bikes. At the ends of our arms we do have reflectors for better visibility at night. The cradles are adjustable, back and forth and side to side. And with our anti-sway cradle up at the front here we did move it to the inside like you see here, and that's to make loading and unloading a little bit easier.It does also come with a stabilization strap. more

Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features.We did an experience some issue with the tire making contact with the vehicle so what we did is we used the provided stabilization strap, tied it around our actual wheel here to keep it from making contact. Now once you have all three bike racks .. excuse me, once you have all three bikes attached, you can use the strap to go around all three as well.The cradles are moveable back and forth and left to right. more

However, at the other end, we do have an integrated cable lock that can pop out, wrap around your front bike, and attach to this point and lock them into place to secure them to the bike rack. We do have the wheel strap that does come along with it, to help prevent vehicle-to-tire contact. more

Then we'll have one off to the side here, which serves as an anti-sway cradle, to keep your bike from moving too far back and forth, and causing bike-to-bike contact.We also have this wheel strap at the front here. This does come with the bike rack, to help prevent contact with your tire here and the vehicle. Now, if you we're to have both bikes attached, there is a much longer strap that wraps around both, as well as the bike rack itself, to keep everything stable while you're driving.Excuse me.Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. more

We can remove our bike and set it off to the side. With the bike removed, I always suggest that you replace your zip strips so you don't lose or damage them. Now we can take a few measurements. more

Today in our 2013 Ford Focus Hatchback, we'll be having a look at the Yakima full back two bike rack, part number Y02634. As you can see we already have a bike installed on it. Just wanted to point out a couple of key feature on this. The first point, the bike is secure by three zip strips. We have two at the top of the frame and another one here at the post going from top to bottom on the bike's frame. And these .. this one here will hold the bike into position from swinging back and forth so you don't have to worry about the bike coming in contact with the bike rack or the bikes that maybe in front of it. more

Thule Archway Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2013 Ford Focus- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford Focus hatchback, we'll be having a look at the Thule Archway XT 2-bike rack, part number TH9009XT. As you can see, we already have a bike loaded up onto it. I'm going to point out a couple of key features on it. Number one, if you want to secure your bikes, we have a cable lock that you can go around, wrap over your bikes, and put back here in the keeper. It'll secure your bikes. Secondly, the bike is secured to the bike rack by three points of contact. We have one here at the top, another one at the top and the back, and then we have another one on the post rail that goes up and down on the bike frame. more

Thule Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2013 Ford Focus- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford Focus Hatchback, we're going to be having a look at the Thule Gateway XT 2-Bike Rack, part number TH9006XT. As you can see, we already have it installed on our bike rack. We alraedy have a bike installed on our bike rack on the back of our Focus. I'm going to go ahead and point out a couple of the features here. The bike is attached by 3 contact points. We have 2 here at the top of each straps, another one here on this top-post frame rail. This will keep the bike from swaying back and forth and contacting other bikes that may be in front of it or contacting the bike rack itself, potentially damaging the bike. Now, with that said, let's go ahead and remove our bikes here. more

Male Announcer: Today on this 2013 Ford Focus we're going to be test fitting the Thule Raceway PRO hatch mounted bike rack, part number TH9001PRO. We already have a bike attached to the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is actually attached to the rack we're going to have three points of contact for the bikes frame. We're going to have 2 straps up at the top here and one off to the side which is going to act as an anti-sway strap to keep it from going too far back and forth hitting either the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Also, we have this integrated cable lock where you would wrap it around the bike in the front and lock it into this slot here for added security. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it to the side. more

Thule Passage Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2013 Ford Focus- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford Focus, we'll be having a look at the Thule Passage Pro 2-Bike Rack. As you can see we already have it installed. I'll just point out a couple of the key features here. We have three points of contact for the bike on the carrier. We have two on the top frame and we have one on the frame post which will help provide sway control so the bike doesn't contact other bikes while driving down the road, the carrier or the car itself. Lets go ahead and take the bike off and I'll tell you about some other things. Go ahead and undo these clamps. Lift off, put the bike to the side. more

Yakima Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ford Focus Hatchback- Video

We'll start by removing our 2 on our frame here and then we've got 1 as our anti-sway. With those removed we can pull our bike off of our rack and set it off to the side and with the bike out of the way I suggest that you replace your zip strips so you don't lose or damage them.
